AWAKING FOOTBALL CLUB

GENERAL AND PERSONAL NEWS. The second progressive euchre party held in connection with the Awakino Football Club in the Awakino hall on Saturday night was successful. Prizewinners for euchre were: Ladies, Mrs. H. Purcell 1, Miss N. Bryant 2; men, Mr. Welsh 1, Mr. L. Bartlett 2. Music for dancing was supplied by Mrs. J. McNeice (piano), Miss Rhoda Bryant (violin); Mr. R. Coogan (accordeon) and Mr. L. Bryant (violin). Mr. D. Montgomerie was master of ceremonies. Mrs. W. Scoble is on a short visit to New Plymouth. Mrs. E. Crawford, Whareorino, spent the week-end as the guest of Mrs. H. Cummings. Mrs. M. Lyall, “Onetae,” is oh a short visit to New Plymouth. Mrs. W. O’Grady, Gisborne, is the guest of Mrs. J. K. Black. Mr. and Mrs. G. Dixon returned from Auckland on Sunday. Mr. R. Stewart is spending a few weeks with his mother, Mrs. J. Halgreen. Mr. and Mrs. E. Carrington visited Uruti at the week-end.
