RUSSIA TO ENTER LEAGUE

It is expected the Soviet will join the League of Nations in September as a result of the conversations between M. M. Litvinoff, Soviet Minister of Foreign Affairs, and M. Barthou, French Minister of Foreign Affairs, at Geneva. France will sponsor the Soviet’s candidacy and will endeavour to secure a smooth election, which requires a twothirds majority of the assembly.
