WAITARA

Mrs. E. Wickham has returned from a holiday with relatives at Masterton. Miss Carruthers, Wanganui, is the guest of Mrs. B. C. Lawrence.

Mrs. H. Wakely and Miss J. Wakely motored to Wanganui on Monday for a short holiday. Miss Jean Callander has returned from a holiday at Opunake and Rahotu. Miss M. Hosie has returned from a holiday.in the north. Miss A. Wells entertained at a bridge party on Saturday evening. The opening of the Manukorihi Ladies’ Golf Club was held on Tuesday afternoon. Canadian foursomes were played and afternoon tea was served by the members.

An enjoyable evening in aid of the Waitara Plunket Society’s baby candidate was held at the residence of Mrs. E. George on Thursday. Nine tables were engaged in bridge, the winner being Mrs. H. Wells.
