WAIRARAPA MAN DROWNED
ATTEMPT TO RECOVER PUNT. By Telegraph—Press Association. Masterton, Last Night. A young man, Montague Tocker, employed by a Masterton stock firm, was drowned in Lake Wairarapa this afternoon. It is understood he was fishing at the lake with several others. When a punt drifted out from.the shore he attempted to swim out and recover it He was a strong swimmer but was apparently seized with cramp in the chilly water.
