SEASIDE IMPROVEMENT

EAST END ACTIVITIES. For the purpose of raising funds for seaside improvement and Life-Saving Club activities at East End,.the reserve committee has appointed a sub-commit-tee to co-operate with the East End Surf Club. At the initial meeting of the joint social committee held in the pavilion last night the following were, present: Messrs. A. Sims, L. , Remington and J. Henderson, representing the. Surf Club, and Messrs. P. Draper, H. Sharrock, J. Mylroi and R. H. Henderson, representing the reserve committee. Mr. Sims was elected chairman, and Mr. R. H. Henderson secretary. It was decided to commence on Easter Saturday night a series of week-end dances in the pavilion. A special feature of these functions will be' the engagement of the Royal Maori ‘String Band, two of whose members attended the meeting by special invitation. Other forms of entertainment were discussed, and will be finalised at a future meeting. The pavilion has been artistically, decorated with the Surf-Club’s colours.
