CONTROL OF PRODUCTION

UNITED STATES AS A MODEL COMMONWEALTH SCHEME. / EMPIRE AS ECONOMIC UNIT. DISCUSSION BY PREMIERS. By Telegraph—Press Assn.—Copyright. Rec. 6.30 p.m. Melbourne, March 30. It is reported in official circles that the forthcoming Premiers’ conference at Canberra will discuss a proposal for a Commonwealth-wide control of primary industries and restriction over production. It is believed the plan will follow the lines of the Agricultural Adjustment Administration in the United States and will be dependent upon an Empire agreement whereby producers will undertake so to restrict specified primary industries as to bring about a • properly balanced scheme of Empire production, the Empire thus working as one economic unit.
