WAREA GENERAL NEWS
TENNIS AND BOWLING MATCHES. During the week-end a New Plymouth bowling team visited Warea and defeated the home team by five points. Details (New Plymouth names first) are: Mills, Lineham, Andrews 25 v. Williams, Robert, Gray 20. ' - A team of pairs from the Warea Bowling Club challenged the Okato pairs team for the Duff Cup and were defeated by 11 points. ' A team of six ladies from the Rahotu Tennis Club visited Warea on Wednesday afternoon. Keenly contested matches were played, Warea winning by six sets to three. Rahotu names are first in the following results: Miss Rita Hodson lost to Miss Mary Doyle 3—6, Miss Doris Lowry lost to Miss Rona Wills 5—6, Miss Fattie Robinson lost to Miss Eileen Doody 4—6, Miss Kitty Nielson defeated MisS I. Corbett 6—2, Miss Pat Murray defeated Miss Sue Boswell 6—2, Miss Betty Brewer lost to Miss E. Doyle 0-6. Doubles; Miss R. Hodson and D. Lowry lost to Miss M. Doyle and E. Doody 4—6, Misses P. Robinson and K. Nielson defeated Misses E. Doyle and I. Corbett 7—2, Misses P. Murray and B. Brewer lost to Misses R. Wells arid S. Boswell 6-7.
