MNING INFORMATION. The Taranaki Stock Exchange has received the following mining information: Upper Ahaura Gold Dredging Co.: The Upper Ahaura Gold Dredging Co., Ltd., will proceed to allotment on March 30. Waihi: The following information has been cabled to the London office of the Waihi Goldmining Co., Ltd.:— For the period ended February 17, comprising 22 crushing days, 18,936 tons of ore were crushed for a result of 5252 fine ounces of gold and 36,459 fine ounces of silver. This includes 2048 tons mined from the Grand Junction area which yielded 550 ounces of gold and 1549 ounces of silver. No. 4 level: North branch of Martha lode: Driving east and next 18ft. assays 28s 6d per ton. The width of the lode varies from Bin to 12in. Edward lode: Driving south the next 26ft. assays 7s 9d per ton and the next 22ft. of ore of good grade. The width of the lode is about 2ft No. 5 level: Martha lode, north branch: The next 24ft. is ore of good grade. The width of the lode is about 2Jft. Martha lode: Driving west the next 13ft. assays 18s per ton. The cross-cut of 440 ft. has connected to the drive on the north branch of Martha lode. Golden Dawn (Owharoa): For the 12 working days ended February 19, 284 tons of ore were treated for a return of £660, exclusive of premium and exchange. In addition 53 tons of outside ore were treated. Bell-Kilgour (Cromwell): For the week ended March 2, 12 oz. 8 dwt from development work. King Solomon (Gore): For the week ended March 2, 112 oz. 15 dwt

AUSTRALIAN MINIMUM PRICES. The New Zealand Dairy Produce Board are advised by the Australian board that they have fixed the minimum prices at which Australian butter may be sold for forward shipment to the United Kingdom during the coming week at B:}d. and Bd. These prices are New Zealand f.d.b. equivalent of the Australian c.i.f.e. minimum prices fixed. BRITISH TOBACCO DIVIDEND. The British Tobacco Company (Australia), Ltd., advised the Stock Exchange Association on Saturday that the directors had declared a quarterly dividend of 1J per cent, on the ordinary shares. 1 The dividend, which is at the usual rate, is payable on March 29. DUNLOP PERDRIAU RUBBER. The Dunlop Perdriau Rubber Co., Ltd., on Saturday advised the Stock Exchange Association that the directors had declared an interim dividend on the preference shares for the half-year ended December 31, 1933, at the rate of 10 per cent, per annum. No interim dividend on the ordinary shares is being paid. The transfer books will be closed from March 17 to 29 inclusive. For the year ended June 30, 1933, the company made a distribution of 4 per cent, on the ordinary shares, compared with 3 per cent, in 1932, 2J per cent, in 1031, 6 .per cent, in 1930, and 10 per cent, in 1929. SYDNEY PRICES MAINTAINED. Rec. 9.55 p.m. Sydney, March 5. There was strong and very general competition at the wool sales to-day, with additional support from Yorkshire. Rates were fully equal to last week’s for all descriptions. Greasy Merino made 26Jd a lb. for eight bales from Yass. The average price of wool at Sydney last week was £2O 17s 3d; a bale, or 17.4 d a lb. DEVELOPMENT AT STAFFORD. The directors of Stafford Gold Dredging, No Liability, report that the necessary legal steps are being taken to exercise the company’s option over the dredging areas at Stafford, West Coast, New Zealand, and to vest the property in the company. CROMWELL MINERS’ DRIVE. Three miners who have been tunnelling into the bank of the Kawarau River in Central Otago for the past .two years haVe located gold-bearing wash. The miners, Messrs. A. Faithful, C. Betts and D. Grant, all of Cromwell, drove their tunnel into the river bank at Richards Beach in the hopes of picking up the lead located higher up the river by Messrs. Bell and Kilgour. They found traces of gold from the start, and at 340 feet in the lead dipped and improved until 3 dwt. to the dish was washed at 390 ft., their present position.

MOLYNEUZ GOLD DREDGING. By Telegraph—Press Assn.—Copyright London, March 2. The Molyneux Gold Dredging Company of New Zealand is issuing 1,250,000 2s shares underwritten. SALE AT FEILDING. CATTLE PRICES ADVANCE. Messrs. Dalgety and Co., Ltd., report an entry of 18,000 sheep and a fail' yarding of cattle at the Feilding sale on Friday. The entry of fat sheep and lambs was greater than for several weeks, but competition was good for adult sheep. Fat lambs, on the other hand, were a shade easier. There was a very mixed penning in the store sheep section, but competition was again good and any reliable ewes sold up to late rates. Store lambs were inquired for, and any forward sorts sold up to the best of last week’s prices. In the cattle section several lines of useful cattle were forward, and competition was very keen and prices showed a decided advance on recent rates. Black Polled, rising threeyear steers, made over £5. The beef section comprised mainly dairy sorts, and there was a slight easing in prices compared with last week.
