CENTRAL SCHOOL JUBILEE

SPECIAL COMMITTEES APPOINTED.

Good progress in the work connected with the Central school jubilee was reported at a meeting of the general committee at New Plymouth last night. Mr. F. A. The recommendations of the finance committee regarding the raising of money for the jubilee expenses were approved by the meeting, matters to be put in hand immediately. Friday (entertainment of present-day pupils): Mr. Evans (convenor) and staff, and ladies of the executive of the Home and School Association.

Saturday: Left to executive committee. . It was suggested by Mr. D. P. Evans, and adopted by the meeting, that about forty men of New Plymouth interested in the school should be approached to guarantee perhaps £5 each to cover any possible losses in connection with the jubilee celebrations. Mr. Evans himself offered to be one of the guarantors.
