BUTTER FIRMER AT 66s TO 68s. IMPROVEMENT IN CHEESE PRICES. After easing 2s to 65s to 66s earlier in the week, the London butter market closed firm on a better demand at 66s to 68s, the same prices as those of a week ago, states a report received by the Dairy Produce Board. Australian closed at 63s to 645, Is lower than the previous week, while Danish closed at 86s to 87s spot, a decline of 3s on the previous week. Consumption is well maintained, the deliveries of 'New Zealand butter being 1787 tons, and the quantity in store at the end of the week 3750 tons, including 1750 tons just discharged from the Rotorua and Rangitane, and compares with 6978 tons in store a year ago. The cheese market closed firmer on an improved demand at 42s to 44s for white and 44s to 46s for coloured. Both white and coloured cheese prices are 2s better than the previous week. Market quiet AUSTRALIAN PRICE OF BUTTER. The New Zealand Dairy Produce Board is advised by the Australian Board that it has fixed the minimum price at which Australian butter may be sold for forward shipment to the United Kingdom during the coming week at 7£d and this being the same as for the pre--vious week. These prices are New Zealand f.o.b. equivalent of the '-Australian c.i.f.e. maximum prices fixed.
