BAFFLING MALADY AT NEW YORK. LORD CARNARVON’S COMPANION. By Telegraph—Press Assn.—Copyright. Boston, Jan. 25. The legend of “Pharaohs’ Curse” was revived to-day, when it was revealed that Mr. Albert Lythgoe, curator emeritus of the New York .Metropolitan Museum of Art, is in hospital here suffering from a baffling malady. Mr. Lythgoe was present when Lord Carnarvon' opened the tomb of King Tutankhamen. His condition is criticalA London message, dated January. 3, stated the death had occurred of Mr. Arthur Weigall, aged 63, the Egyptologist, following a mysterious illness of six months. The Daily Mail remarked upon the coincidence of the number of deaths of those present at the opening of Tutankhamen’s tomb.

Lord Carnarvon died on April 6, 1923, from the result of a mosquito bite,- before he could see the fruition of his work on the tombs. Mr. Howard Carter, who made astounding discoveries, ia stiU alive.
