OAKURA TENNIS CLUB DANCE

GENERAL AND PERSONAL ITEMS. The Oakura hall was decorated with hydrangeas and greenery on Tuesday evening, the occasion being a social and dance organised by the Oakura Tennis Club which proved a success. The items were: Songs, Messrs. J. Ledgerwood and T. Bunbury; duet, Miss A. Bunbury and T. Bunbury; tap dance, Miss Marion Rofe; bones solo, Mr. Bert Bunbury; recitation, Mrs. Kircher. Mr, L. Bowen played several musical items, Mr. Ledgerwood introduced Mr. and' Mrs. L. Bowen to the gathering,' Mr. Bowen being Y.M.C.A. secretary at Chicago, Boulton’s orchestra supplied the music. Messrs. C. Jans and L. Rusling were masters of ceremonies. A Monte Carlo waltz was won by Miss Maisie Rusling and Mr. R. Price. An iced cake was won by Miss Andery Smith. Residents along the coast did not. get a very good view of Sir Charles Kingsford Smith’s plane as he flew too far out to sea.

Miss A. Crockett who spent a few days with her aunt, Mrs. G. H. Bell, has returned home. Mrs. T. Sefton has returned from a holiday spent at Auckland. Mr. and Mrs. S. Johnson and Miss Marion Rofe, who were staying with Mr. and Mrs. D, Harvey, have returned home.
