TARANAKI CRICKET
HOLIDAY MATCH ARRANGEMENTS. THIRD HAWKE CUP FIXTURE. Five games of a representative nature have been arranged by the northern division of the Taranaki Cricket Association for the Christmas and New Year holidays. The fixtures and umpires are: Saturday: Senior A v. Senior B representatives at Western Park at 2 p.m., Messrs. V. Duff and A. W. Morey. Boxing Day:. Town v. Country at Pukekura Park at 10 a.m., Messrs. E. Sarten and J. Giddy. December 29 and 30: North Taranaki v. Victoria University College at Pukekura Park at 10.30 a.m., Messrs. J. M. Thomson and A. W. Morey. • New Year Day: North v. South Taranaki at Pukekura Park at 10.30 a.m., Mr. F. C. Ferry and one from South Taranaki- Senior B v. South Taranaki at Hawera, South to appoint umpires. According to advise received by the Taranaki Cricket Association from the New Zealand Cricket Council, should Taranaki succeed in its . challenge to Nelson for the Hawke Cup a cup match will be played in Taranaki against Poverty Bay commencing on January 1 and continuing on the following two days. On the other hand should Nelson succeed in holding the trophy Poverty Bay will visit Nelson on the dates mentioned.
