MODEL AEROPLANE CLUB
FORMATION AT NEW PLYMOUTH. KEEN INTEREST DISPLAYED. About 20 people, mostly youths, were present at. a meeting at New Plymouth lost night, when it was decided to form a model aeroplane club. The club will be affiliated to, and under the control of the New Zealand Aeroplane Association, which has headquarters at Auckland.
Officers were elected as follow: President, Mr. F. Bullot; vice-presidents, Dr. J. S. Church and Mr. H. H. Moller; secretary, Mr. B. Lobb; club captain, Mr. J. Bayly; vice-captain, Mr. Gannaway; committee, officers ex-officio, with the addition of Messrs. S. Spindler and K. Dunn.
The subscription has been fixed at 2s 6d a year, and a possibility is that pilot members of the New Plymouth Aero Club will give lectures from time to time on the theory of flight. Those present were enthusiastic on the possibilities of model aircraft, and a scale model of the Southern Cross, a scale model of the Schneider Cup re-cord-breaking seaplane, and a flying fuselage model aroused great interest.
