CHRISTMAS CAMP

Y.M.C.A. PLANS AT OAKURA. Beginning on Boxing Day, December 26, and continuing until January 16, a camp .under the supervision of fbe Y.M.C.A. at New Plymouth will be held at Oakura, nine miles from New Plymouth. The camp has been christened “Abnaki." Open to boys of from 10 to 15 years, the camp will be run in three weekly periods. Accommodation will be provided at a moderate cost for 40 boys. The meals will be cooked on proper ranges, and the discipline, though fairly strict, is meant to give the campers the best of good times. Regular periods for swimming have been allotted, and sports will be held, probably each afternoon. In the fellowship of boys of equal age much that should be of great assistance in giving a happy holiday will probably be found. A daily programme has been drawn up, and though plenty of latitude is allowed tasks will be allotted as a means of keeping the boys, in order.
