Mrs. J. Gibbs and Mrs. W. T. Somerton left by car last Sunday for Gisborne.

Mrs. F. Sheppard is visiting Mrs. Bungay, Kaimata. Mrs. J. D. Johnston was hostess at a bridge party on Wednesday night.

Mrs. J. Winfield has returned from a lengthy holiday at Napier. Miss Margaret Ferguson, Waitara, spent last week-end' as the guest of Mrs. Eaves. Mrs. Weston, who has been spending several weeks as the guest of Mrs. R. Coutts, has returned to Whangamomona. Mesdames F. and H. Sparks, who have been the guests of Mrs. H. Winter, have left for Halswell, Christchurch. Mrs. J. Penn spent last week-end at her cottage at Onaero.

Mrs. C. Shotter will be leaving shortly for her new home at Ngaio, Wellington.

Miss B. Wills, Tikorangi, who has been visiting Mrs. Partridge, has returned.

Mrs. Eaves and Miss Whittington are spending the week-end at New Plymouth.

Mrs. I. V. Buchanan, Junction Road, who has been at Hawera for a few days, has returned.

Mrs. J. Burgess, Durham Road, is visiting her sister. Mrs. Cartwright, Lepperton.

Mrs. D. Allen, who has been visiting her daughters, Mrs. Wallis, Opunake, and Mrs. Cressy, Hawera, has returned home. Mrs. D. Clough has left for Whangarei, where she will in future reside, Mrs. lan Grant entertained New Plymouth and Stratford friends at tennis last week-end.

Miss E. Fetch has returned from Lepperton, where she was the guest of Mrs. H. Ross.

Mrs. R. Johnston, Wanganui, is on a visit to Mrs. Smith.

Mrs. Partridge and the Misses P. and C. Partridge and E. Fetch were visitors on Wednesday night at the twenty-first birthday of Miss Agnes Farfltt, New Plymouth.

The closing of the drama circle was held at the residence of Mrs. Dansie on Tuesday night A small play was acted and musical items were given. Among those present were Mesdames Adnams, Leech, Feaver, Braybrooke, and T. Lindsay, Misses Trimble and Leech. The hostess served supper.
