HOT WEATHER IN NOVEMBER
dry MONTH AT NEW PLYMOUTH. Although somewhat dry, the weather at New Plymouth during November was not as dry as during the same period last year. On five days the temperature was over 70 degrees—on November 28 it actually reached 73.6 degrees—and there were other days almost as hot. The rainfall was 3.33 inches, which fell on 16 days; the heaviest fall was .98 inch on the 21st. Figures for this and the two preceding years are as follow:— Rainfall.

The bright sunshine recorded was 206.1 hours (last year 241.3 hours), and the greatest record 13.3 hours. The wind was not very strong during the month, and the prevailing direction early in the day was between north-east and south-east.
