MR. J. G. COATES TO BE PRESENT.

A large number of Maoris has been gathering at the Manukorihi Pa, Waitara, and it is expected that several hundred will be present to-day and tomorrow, when an important meeting is to be held. The Right Hon. J. G. Coates and Sir Apirana Ngata are expected to arrive to-day in. company with several other visitors. ' A 1 ' The primary purpose of the meeting to-day is to elect officers for the Maori Trust Board to fill the vacancies created by the retirement of those members whose term of office has expired. The question of proceeding with the erection of the memorial on the vault containing the ashes of the late Sir Maui Pomare will also be discussed, and it is understood that there are several other important matters which will be. considered. .
