TENNIS CLUB’S ANNUAL MEETING.
The annual meeting of the Mokau Glenfiere Tennis Club was held on Tuesday. Mrs. Black presided over a good attendance. The balance sheet showed a credit balance of £5l Is sd. Officers elected for the ensuing year were; President; Mrs. Black; secretaries, Messrs. T. Hair and S. P. Sheen; auditor. Mr. F. Northern; captain and delegate, Mr. C. Hepburn; vice-captain, Miss I. Hansen; committee. Mesdames F. G. Northern and E. Gough, Miss I. Hansen, Messrs. C. Hepburn, N. Clifton and A. Ericksen. It was decided to have the court topdressed and the vacant plot at the side to be sown in lawn grass. Arrangements are being made for the purchase of a new net and other requirements. It was agreed to hold the opening on December 3, General Items.
A full meeting of directors of the Mokau-Awakino Dairy Company was held in the Tainui House on Tuesday. It was decided to hold a general meeting to discuss arrangements to cope with the continually increasing output. Owing to exceptionally low tides the Mokau River bar was rendered unworkable, thus causing much delay to shipping. The Mahurangi was at the wharf for several days. The depth of water on the bar was greatly increased with the high tide on Wednesday morning, and both vessels were able to cross safely. A dance in aid of hall funds was held in the Mokau Hall on Saturday, and was well attended. Music was played by Miss I. Hansen. Extras were played by Miss B. Sampson and Miss M. Ormond. Mr. A. Ericksen was master of ceremonies.
