TO STAND TRIAL FOR MURDER
CHARGE AGAINST GEORGE E. JAMES
DEATH OF WELLINGTON WOMAIf.

Wellington, Sept. 26.
The hearing of the charge against George Edward James of murdering Mrs. Cecilia Smith, whose body, with the throat cut, was found in a flat at 27 Ohiro Road on the evening of June 30, was concluded to-day. James was committed for trial at the next sitting of the Supreme Court in Wellington. Earlier on June 30 the body 'of Mrs. Smith’s five-year-old son, Noel, was found on the beach near Point Halswell, The same day James was rescued from the harbour at the Thorndon work. '■ ..
