PERSONAL. Mr. and Mrs. Frank L. Booth, with their daughter Maureen, left yesterday for Wellington. Mr. Booth, who has been on the staff of the Hawera office of the Public Trust Department, is on transfer to the head office. I Mr. and Mrs. J. Eggers and Mr. F. Eggers, of Wellington, have been visiting Hawera as the guests of Mrs. C. Macßae, Regent Street. Owing to illness and transfers, changes have taken place in the staff of the Patea Post and Telegraph Office. New members are Mr. Hansard, Te Uku, Mr. Dodds, Ormondville, and Mr. H. Ansford, Lyttelton. Mr. D. J. Charteris, Rangikura, is progressing satisfactorily after an operation in the Patea hospital on Wednesday. At a Hawera Methodist congregational social on Thursday a presentation of a handsomely-bound hymn book was made by Mr. T. J. Hurrell to Mr. Geo. Barkla, wM has resigned office as superintendent of the Tawhiti Sunday school and is leaving Hawera.
