FOREST FIRE FOUGHT. ' INCIDENT IN DALMATIA. • Belgrade, Aug. 8. When a fire began in the magnificent cypress forests on the -Peljeshatz Peninsula in Dalmatia, British sailor's from the Mediterranean Fleet, which is anchored at Korchula, were rushed to - the scene with fire-fighting apparatus. After five hours the sailors apparently had subdued the fire, but it broke out again later, spreading rapidly before a high wind. The sailors returned and fought the fire throughout the night, eventually extinguishing it. - They received a great ovation from the inhabitants when they were rejoining their ships.
