PRIMARY SCHOOL RUGBY

TARANAKI REPRESENTATIVES. LEVIN TOURNEY PROGRAMME. The programme for the primary schools’ annual quadrangular Rugby tournament between Taranaki, Horowhenua, Rangitikei and Hutt Valley teams, to be commenced at Levin to-mor-row, has been received by Mr. L. J. Furrie, Stratford, who is manager of the Taranaki team. The boys leave to-day by the mail train and will return next Thursday. Taranaki, Rangitikei and Hutt Valley teams will all arrive at Levin this afternoon, and the official programme will commence to-morrow morning with photographs and a reception at the Levin Domain, when speeches will be given by the Mayor, Mr. P. W. Goldsmith, the president of the Horowhenua Rugby Union, Mr. W. Hannan, and the chairman of the management committee, Mr. R. J Foss.

-The first'match will be played by Taranaki and Hutt in the morning and Rangitikei v. Horowhenua will follow in tire afternoon, on the same programme as the Horowhenua junior championship final between Paraparaumu and Foxton. In the evening a visit will be paid to a theatre.

There will be a trip to the Otaki Maori church on Sunday afternoon, and on Monday a butter factory in the district will be inspected by the boys. The second round matches will be played on Monday afternoon, the draw being Rangitikei v. Hutt, followed by Taranaki v. Horowhenua. There will be a game for the reserves on Tuesday morning, and for the afternoon a trip to the Mangahao hydro-electric works has been arranged. Another butter factory will be inspected on Wednesday morning, and the third and final round—Taranaki v. Rangitikei and Hutt v. Horowhenua—will follow after lunch. The farewell tea and social is to be held on Wednesday evening, followed by a dinner for officials and conference of delegates. The visit will conclude with the departure of the visiting teams, north and south after an early lunch on Thursday. The rules of the tournament provide for a 9st. 81b. weight limit and 30-minute shells. The results of the tournament since its inception ; are: 1930,. Rangitikei; 1931, Taranaki; 1932, Hutt.
