LARGE MAJORITY IN FAVOUR. !

A poll of ratepayers on a proposal t» raise a loan of £185,000 to augment th* city water supply from Deep Stream was carried on a small poll, by a majority of nearly 6 to 1, the voting being for the proposal 5319, against 960. A total of 6307 ratepayers registered votes of a total of 21,000 on the roll.
