CHEAPER PETROL IN SYDNEY

Petrol prices have again been reduced by a penny a gallon, the new prices being: First grade Is. 7d., second grade Is. sd. f The major oil companies and at least one independent oil company reduced the price of petrol in New South Wales by a penny a gallon as from May 29. In Sydney Is. Bd. a gallon was charged for first-grade spirit and Is. 6d. a gallon for second-grade spirit. A similar reduction was made a month before. It was only a few months before that first-grade petrol cost 2s. Id. a gallon and second grade Is. lid. It was said that the reason for the reduction was the general decline in petrol prices throughout the world, and that action in Australia was related to the reduction recently of 2jd. a gallon ih the price of petrol in Great Britain.
