ATTITUDE OF LABOUR PARTY. OPPOSITION TO MONOPLOY. By Telegraph—Press Assn.—Copyright. Rec. 9.55 p.m. . * Canberra, July 20. Federal Labour members are strongly opposed to any development plan in the Northern Territory which permits the establishment of chartered companies. Mr. Blakeley, former Minister of the Interior, said the Labour policy,was definitely against the introduction of private enterprise. Mr. J. H. Scullin, leader of the Opposition, while anxious to obtain full details of the Government’s plan, said the Labour Party would not agree to the creation of a monopoly over a large area of land in Australia.
