The Boxing Board of Control has suspended Jack Doyle’s license for six months as a squel to the farcical title bout and decided that Doyle and his mother should each be paid £5 weekly for six months from Doyle’s £3OOO purse. The balance has been forfeited. Jack Doyle was disqualified for hitting the holder, Jack Petersen, low in the second round of the British heavyweight championship. The 45,000 present in the open air at the White City saw a farcical contest lasting 31 minutes, for which each was to receive £3OOO. . Both were severely cautioned for clinching. Doyle, aft-r shaking Petersen, threw all caution to the winds and dealt many foul blows, whereupon the referee, who had already shown great leniency, disqualified him.
