TUNA DISTRICT NEWS
EUCHRE PARTY AND DANCE. The fortnightly euchre party and dance of the Tuna Sports Club was held in the schoolroom last month. There was a good attendance. Visitors were present from the surrounding districts. The prizes were won by Mrs. T. Groshinski (Huinga), Miss P. Bell, Mr. J. Bell and Mr. B. Adlam. At a dance which followed, the novelty dances were won by Miss F. Kovaleski and partner, and Miss A. Bonniface and partner. Music was supplied by Miss I. Bell and Mr. C. Henderson. “LARDER EVENING.” Residents of Tuna, Wharehuia and Egmont Village gave a “larder evening” at the home of Mr. and Mrs. G. Lawrence, Bird Road. Mr. Parish, on behalf of Bird Road residents gave the young couple a hearty welcome to the district. Mr. T. Henderson referred to the popularity of the young couple in the Tuna /district. Mr. R. Kovaleski also spoke. Mr. Lawrence thanked the visitors. The evening was spent enjoyably in dancing and games. Miss S. Henderson, Tuna, and Miss Esther Adamson, Egmont Village, recited. Closing of Factories. The Tuna dairy factory has closed down. A lorry from the Midhirst factory collects the cream every fourth day. Methodist Anniversary. The Methodist Church held its Sunday school anniversary on Sunday. Despite wet weather thete was a good attendance in the afternoon and evening. Personal Items.
Miss D. Groshinski, Taumarunui, is the guest-of her aunt, Mrs. J. Groshinski. Miss E. Lepper has been staying with her grandmother, Mrs. Lepper, New Plymouth.
Miss E. Long, who has been staying a' Tariki, has returned home.
