TRAMWAY UNION AGREEMENT
MORE FLEXIBLE CONDITIONS.
SETTLEMENT AT AUCKLAND.
By Telegraph—Press Association.
Auckland, July 11.
The Transport Board has concluded an agreement with the Tram and Bus Employees’ Union for one year from August 12. This is the outcome of amicable negotiations for several weeks. The wages are approximately unchanged, but the management has secured conditions permitting more flexibility in operation. The chairman, Mr. Allum, said that the board was unanimous that every effort would be made to avoid further retrenchment, and that further cuts were not justified.
