MEETINGS AND GENERAL ITEMS. SPORT CLUB’S SUCCESSFUL YEAR. A number of members of the Tikorangi branch of the Farmers’ Union met at the hall on Monday night, Mr. J. Paulger presiding. Remits for the annual conference were discussed. A large number of suppliers of the Tikorangi dairy factory attended a meeting in the hall on Tuesday night to discuss making casein next year. Mr. C. Foreman, chairman, explained as far as possible the prospects and benefit of making casein next year, and after general discussion it was unanimously decided to make casein, all the suppliers hoping that the new season will bring better times. The Tikorangi Sports Club held its first annual meeting in the school room on Wednesday night, when owing probably to the wet night only an average attendance was present. The secretary, Mr. D. Metcalf, read the following annual report: The club was formed in May, 1932, when it was decided that the subscription should be 3d. entrance fee and a penny a week. Later this was given up, the new rate being Is. a mem,ber every three months. Two months after the club was formed the first chairman, Miss D. Soffe, left the district, Mr. G. Foreman was elected to that position. An average of 26 members had been held during the year. To raise funds there were four social and euchre parties, three dances and euchre parties, three competitions, two tennis tournaments and a mart. At Christmas books were collected and small dolls dressed for the Christmas cheer fund, a special vote of thanks being received from Sister Corkill. The treasurer reported that the dub had in hand £l5 18s. -The following committee was elected:

Mr. Gordon Foreman (chairman), Misses Dora Metcalf (secretary), Audrey Beavesi (treasurer) and Myrtle Yearbury, Messrs. Stan McCann, George Jupp and Fred Hunter. It was arranged for two delegates to attend the next school, committee meeting in connection with, giving £5 toward improvement of the tennis court Permission had been granted the dub by the library committee, it was reported, to play table tennis in the library on ' Friday evenings. The ,dub was to pay 6d. per evening rent Members owning racquets and balls and net were requested to bring them . for ,their own games. Final arrangements were made for the dance next. week.
