BREACHES OF BY-LAWS
SEVERAL FINES INFLICTED. Several breaches of the motor regulations and by-laws were dealt with by Mr. W. H. Woodward, S. M., in the Police Court at New Plymouth yesterday. For cutting the corner when turning his motor-car from Devon Street into Robe Street at New Plymouth on April 19, Eric F. Henderson was convicted and fined 10s with costs 12s. The absence of a light on the bicycle he was riding early in the evening of April 24 in Robe Street resulted in David W. Nicoll being convicted and fined 5s (costs 10s). Archibald J. R. Land, the occupier of a house situated at 470 Devon Street, was convicted and ordered to pay costs 10s for allowing his chimney to catch fire on April 22.
