WANDERING COWS ON ROAD

SPOTSWOOD RESIDENTS CHARGED.

For permitting cows to wander on the Ngamotu Road towards the end of April, James T. Langdon and Arthur E. Fox, both of Spotswood, were charged in the Police Court at New Plymouth yesterday, before Mr. W. H. Woodward, S.M., on information laid.by the Taranaki County inspector, Mr. R. Aroa. Langdon was convicted and fined 10s, with costs 10s, and Fox was convicted and discharged. The inspector stated that he had received numerous complaints of cattle wandering on' roads in that locality. Langdon jvas the owner of four cows, and Fox had one cow, all of which were on the road on the date mentioned. Landon had not been warned previously. •• - , Mrs. Fox, who appeared, stated that they were moving to another locality, and there would be no further trouble.
