The Waitui Sports Club’s carnival, which is to be. held to-morrow on Mr. Buckley’s property, furnishes proof of this popularity* as very large entries have been received for the six chopping events; The 11-inch maiden has attracted 46, several of whom have been very close up in previous contests. No less than 63 have entered for the open 12inch, and about as many for the Waitui special 12-inch, whilst over 40 have entered for the 14-inch handicap. Included in the number are men like G.
