CALEDONIANS FOREGATHER
SECOND INGLESIDE. Two long lines of cars outside the Agricultural Hall last night bote witness to the good attendance at the New '‘Plymouth Caledonian Society’s second ingleside. Torrents of rain which fell incessantly throughout the evening had little effect on the spirits of the dancers. Immediately following the Grand March led by Pipe-Major Black and Piper Cruickshank, couples claimed the floor for the popular Circassian Circle, and any who may have felt regrets for braving the elements on such a night were forced by the skirling pipes to enter the free spirit of the ingleside. All who participated in the chain waltzes, Gay Gordons and the many other popular Scottish and old-time dances were caught up in the prevailing spirit of sociability and friendliness, always so eminent at the society's gatherings, and were soon- enjoying ‘ themselves. "The chief, Mr. R. W. D. Robertson, briefly welcomed members and friends, and thanked them for their attendance. The duties of masters of ceremonies were in the capable hands of Messrs J. Corkill arid W. Johnston, while supper'was dispensed by the ladies’ committee' led by Mrs. W. W. Thomson. Music 'was provided by Martin’s orchestra for the oldtime and modem dances, and by PipeMajor Black for the Scottish ones. Extras were played by Mrs. King.
