CLUB’S ANNUAL MEETING. TWO TEAMS NOMINATED. “During the season this club again ,fielded the champion first junior team of Taranaki, as after it emerged on top from the Central Division competition the team won the semi-final against Clifton and then beat Okaiawa in the final, despite the fact that some of. tire players were called on to play in the senior grade,” stated the report read at the annual meeting of the Toko Rugby Football Club on Monday night. A large number of members attended the meeting and Mr. H. Were presided. The report added that the third grade team though not so successful on the field fulfilled its engagements and kept the younger players together. The seven-a-side tournament held at the beginning of the season was an outstanding success as nineteen teams competed, tire Kerin Cup being won by Celtic with Pukengahu the runner-up. The annual ball was a great social and financial success and the thanks of the club were due to the ladies of the district for their assistance. The function held to celebrate the winning of the championship was also a success and was well patronised by members and supporters. The balance-sheet showed a loss of £2 but when the extra expense incurred through the club having to convey the third grade team to its various playing, centres and through the dinner were considered the club came through a hard season' fairly well. The social evening given by playing members to their supporters resulted in a loss of £9 8s 6d. Gate receipts had also dropped, the lowering of the charges being responsible for this. On the expenditure side the reasonable charge made by referees was noticed with pleasure. Officers elected were: Patron, Mr. H. Were; president, Mr. J.
