NAZIS RAID STALHELMS COUNTER REVOLUTION PLOT PLEA MADE FOR MONARCHY SURRENDER OF PRUSSIANS By Telegraph—Press Assn.—Copyright Rec. 10 p.m. Berlin, March 28. At Brunswick Nazi auxiliaries raided the Stahlelms’ guardhouse and disarmed the Stahlelm auxiliary. The police arrested several of the leaders and others on suspicion of a counter-revolutionary plot and took the names of hundreds of civilians.
Herr Klagges, Nazie Minister of the Interior at Brunswick, alleges that the Stahlelms have recently been enrolling members of the Reichsbanner and other forbidden organisations. He adds that to-day the movement assumed a mass character. Hundreds of ex-Reichsbanner-ites, Socialists and Communists marched to the Guardhouse and protected the Stahlelm auxiliaries amid continuous shouts of “Hail Freedom Front!” “Hail Red Front!” while excited crowds of Communists and Socialists in the vicinity of the Guardhouse shouted menaces against Herr Hitler and the Nazis — moreover with the Stahlelms 1 toleration. Herr Nob, the Communist leader, recently in weeks of hiding, ventured from his hiding place and participated in the threats. The Stalhelms also maltreated young Nazis. The broadcasting authorities, which are controlled by the Government, have refused to broadcast a monarchist speech by Herr Ebert von Bismark, a relative of the famous Chancellor. At a meeting of the League of Nationalist Youth, which the ex-Kaiseris son Prince Oscar attended, von Bismark pleaded for the return of the hereditary Hohenzollem monarchy. “We need a state where divine right for the Emperor is a mandate from above, even as the vocation of every citizen is a duty ordered from above,” he said.
Members of Prussian Government have completed an inglorious surrender by declaring their dismissal by President Hindenburg absolves them from their duties. Herr Goering announces the seizure of their incomes and property to recoup the police for the amount of a grant which a Minister misused.
