CHASE AFTER INTRUDER

BOARDING-HOUSE EXCITEMENT. TWO SUMS OF MONEY STOLEN. By Telegraph—Press Association. Rotorua, Last Night. . A dramatic chase took place early this morning when a boarder in the Kia Ora Private Hotel, roused by the sound of an intruder, with a night porter gave chase to two men who bolted along a passage. The men climbed the back fence but when the porter caught one by the leg he struck out with his fist and escaped in the poor light of early dawn. It was later discovered that the sum of £l2 had been stolen from clothes in one of the bedrooms and that £2 had been stolen in a similar manner from a neighbouring boarding-house, St Elma.
