LADIES’ GOLF SEASON OPENS

NEW PLYMOUTH CLUB’S MATCH. POSTPONEMENT OF TOURNAMENT. The New Plymouth Ladies’ Golf Club opened its season in ideal circumstances at Waiwakaiho yesterday. The course was in excellent order and the large number of players enjoyed sunshine. Mrs. Russell won the senior bogey, match 3 down and Miss Rolfe won the junior 4 down. The club has postponed its annual tournament from April until October, a week before the New Zealand championships at Wanganui, the Auckland contingent for which, it is hoped, will visit New Plymouth. The April dates clashed with local functions and allowed the men’s tournament no margin for bad weather. A L.G.U. match will be played on Tuesday. Members unable to play are to notify the secretary.
