RIFLE-SHOOTING
SHOOTING AT PATEA. ROOTS’ TROPHY FINAL MATCH. The final competition for the Roots trophy was fired on the Patea range on Saturday. The conditions were good and some high scores were recorded, more particularly at 500 yards. Rifleman R. Willis and J. Cunningham each registered 48. At 600 yards shooting was more difficult, the scores being low.. Rifleman N. Coad with 43 was the best off the rifle. Rifleman L. McDonald is still leading =but the final result is still in doubt as some members have still to fire at both ranges. Following are the scores:— 500 600
