WEDDINGS
GRAHAM—RUTTER. The wedding was celebrated at the Masterton Methodist Church on Wednesday, January 18, of Winifred Joyce, only daughter of Mr. F. G. Rutter, Tararua Street, Lansdowne, and George Walter, youngest son of Mr. A. Graham and the late Mrs. Graham, New Plymouth. The ceremony was performed by the Rev. E. O. Blamires, assisted by the Rev. W. Parker, of the Kuripuni Methodist Church. Miss Jones played the organ and a solo was sung by Miss Evelyrf The bride, who entered the church with her father, wore an ankle-length, frock of white satin beaute, designed with a lace yoke, tight-fitting bodice, long tight sleeves and a flared skirt. The beautiful veil, the gift of the chief bridesmaid, was attached to a tulle cap with a bandeau of tiny orange blossom. She carried a bouquet of Madonna lilies and white carnations. The bridesmaids, Miss Ella Bate and Miss Jessie Graham, were dressed in powder blue and lemon marocain respectively, with hats and shoes to match and carried shower bouquets of blue hydrangeas and lemon, carnations. Mr. Allan G. Rutter, brother of the bride, was best man, and Mr. A. E. Bate groomsman. After the marriage service a reception was held, the hall being decorated to represent a drawing room. Mrs, Rutter to receive the guests was attired in an ensemble of maroon wool georgette and carried a bouquet of dark red carnations. Mrs. Feasey, sister of the bridegroom, wore a frock of floral georgette. During the reception solos were sung by Miss E. Jones, and pianoforte solos were played by Mr. Arther Fieldhouse. Mr. and Mrs. Graham left for Brighton, the bride travelling in a three-piece suit of saxe blue, with hat and shoes to match; Mr. and Mrs. Graham will reside at Riverside, Ashburton.
SECKER—CROFSKY.
The wedding took place at the Catholic Church, Opunake, on Thursday last of Raymond James Seeker, son of Mrs. and the late Mr. R. Seeker, and Monica Dorothy, daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Crofsky. The Rev. Father Kennedy performed the ceremony and Mr. W. Markham played the organ. The bride, who was given away by her brother, Mr. F. Crofsky, wore a pretty frock of pale pink ring velvet, with a long tulle veil in the same shade. She carried a shower bouquet of pink flowers.
Miss F. Crofsky attended her sister as bridesmaid and wore a frock of powder blue velvet, with a small coatee. A soft white felt hat was worn and she carried a bouquet to tone. Little June Crofsky, niece of the bride, was flower girl and wore a pale pink satin frock with a lace cap, and carried a basket of blue flowers. Jimmie Munro, nephew of the bride, was page boy and wore a suit of white satin. Mr. Reg. Seeker attended his brother as best man.
A reception was held at the home of Mr. and Mrs. J. Crofsky. Mr. and Mrs. Seeker later left for Woodville, the bride wearing a cream ensemble with hat and shoes to tone.
LAMBETH—OTTON.
A naval wedding took place at St. Matthew’s Church, Auckland, on February 1 when William Stanley Lambeth, Able Seaman H.M.S. Diomede, and eldest son of Mrs. A. H. Street and the late Mr. W. Lambeth, Bell Block, was married to Florence Ellen Grace, only daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Otton, Remuera, Auckland. The bride, who entered the church with her father, wore a frock of cream satin and a beautiful veil of tulle edged with blonde lace, which fell to form a train. She carried a shower bouquet of white and pink. The bridesmaid, Miss Vera Young, and two flower girls, Miss Norma Stephens and Miss Cherry Lambeth, sister of the bridegroom, wore ankle-length frocks of blue and pink satin respectively and carried bouquets to match. The bridegroom was attended by Able Seaman Connell as best man and Mr. Ranji Otton as groomsman, while another shipmate, Electrical Artificer Harrison, played the organ. As the bridal party left the church they passed under an arch of lanyards held by sailors. The reception was held at the Oak Hall, Liverpool Street, over 100 guests being present. The couple left for the north after a social evening.
