Rec. 6.30 p.m. New York, .Feb. 17s Following a preliminary investigation in Texas by Mr. Kelly, a member of tha Australian Council of , Industrial and Scientific Research, and the present visit of Mr. White, representative of th® graziers’ interests on the council, th® Press Association learns that immediate purchases of new American Zebu stud cattle for Australian cattle groups are now being contemplated. Mr. - White, who has just completed consultation with Messrs. Mohler and Black, respectively director of the bureau of animal industry and chief animal husbandman of the United States Department of Agriculture, has departed for Kingsville, Texas, where he will spend some time among the cattle of Congressman Kleberg, on whose properties important work in the development of th® type has been done. ’ It is understood Mr Kelly will arrive in the United States on March 10 to make purchases. It is believed the Zebu type is specially suited to sub-tropical areas such as Queensland, the type being tick resistant.
