GRADING MILK FOR CHEESE
MR. SINGLETON TO VISIT HAWERA. MEETING TARANAKI COMPANIES. No finality has yet been reached ;on the milk grading question as it affects Taranaki companies using the microscopic test. Mr. W. M. Singleton, Director of the Dairy Division, was to have visited Hawera this week but suitable arrangements could not be made. Mr. Singleton was to have conferred with the Taranaki Federation of Co-op. Dairy Companies on Wednesday. He was delayed by a conference at Wellington, however, and the important meeting of the Dairy Board has filled in the remainder of the week. Probably an appointment will be made for next week. A round-table conference at Wellington on Wednesday was attended by the Minister of Agriculture, the Hon. C. E. Macmillan, Mr. W. J. Polson, MJP. for Stratford, Mr. S. G. Smith, M.P. for New Plymouth, Mr. H. G. Dickie, M.P. for Patea, Mr. C. A. Wilkinson, M.P. for Egmont, and Dr. C. J. Reakes, DirectorGeneral of Agriculture, and Mr. Singleton. It is understood that this followed on Mr. Polson’s question in the House.
