The annual post and telegraph picnic to have been held yesterday at the Meeting-of-the-Waters was postponed owing to the wet weather. It is understood it will be held next week-end. A harvest thanksgiving service will be held next Sunday in the Church of England at Taruruiangi at 2.30 p.m., when the choir of Holy Trinity Church, Fitzroy, will assist. Archdeacon F. G. Evans will preach. ' Attention is drawn to the advertisement appearing in this issue of the Farmers’ Co-op.’s Annual Sheep Fair to be held at Inglewood, on Wednesday next, when approximately 2500 mixed sheep will be offered for sale. The majority of these sheep are from the back country, and will do well wherever taken.

Those of our readers who propose to attend the Wanganui Races will be pleased to leam that suitable arrangements have been made regarding train services and cheap fares. Particulars • will be found in our advertising. columns in this issue.
