The keynote of a speech by Mr. J. T. Lang, former Premier of New South Wales, at the Country Labour conference held at Goulburn was that Australian people at the next Federal election should returii a Labour Government pledged to unification and control of credit.

The chairman, Mr. Keller, announced amidst tumultuous, applause that he hoped Mr. Lang would be the’ next Prime Minister of Australia.

Mr. Lang's speech was described by an official at the conference as “the new Federal Labour policy for the next Federal election.” The conference carried a motion making the socialisation of credit the foremost plank of the Labour Party’s policy at the Federal elections.
