The condition of the victims of the Levin crossing smash at Ohau yesterday showed an improvement this morning. Mrs. Wallace D’Ath is recovering from shock. Her mother, Mrs. O’Rorke, is the most seriously injured, her ankle being broken. The four children, three D’Aths and one a daughter of Mrs. Walker, Plimmerton, are suffering from cuts and bruises. All had a .miraculous escape from death. Mrs- D’Ath, who was driving, saw the train when approaching the crossing at Ohau and applied the brakes, but they failed to act. Thj train struck the car and the heavy impact crushed in one side and capsized it.
