NEW PLYMOUTH BOY DROWNS

ACCIDENT AT OTOROHANGA. JUST COMMENCED MOTOR TOUR. Maurice Shepherd, the 12-year-old son of Mr. and Mrs. W. J. Shepherd, Wallath Road, Westown, New Plymouth, was drowned at Otorohanga yesterday. The body of the boy will be brought to New Plymouth to-day for burial. Maurice Shepherd and another 12-year-old New Plymouth boy, Ashly King, son of Mr. King, Gill Street, left with Mr. Gordon Smith, New Plymouth, earlier in the week on a fortnight’s, trip by motor. They had reached Otorohanga yesterday and intended going to Rotorua to-day and thence to Napier and Dannevirke.
