GENERAL AND PERSONAL ITEMS. : Quite a number of parents and friends were present at the church on Sunday afternoon, when, the. Rev. Fussell held a special children’s service and presented the Sunday school prizes won during the year. ./.Every Sunday. school, pupil .was presented with a gift, while special attendance prizes were awarded -to Jack Alexander (Mrs.. H. Foreman’s class), Russell Beaven (Miss K. Fault's class) and Brian Langley (Miss Foreman’s class). The doll-dressing competition arranged by the girl members of the sports club, was keenly contested, and some very daintily dressed dolls were submitted to the judges. The first prize was awarded to Doris Jupp, and two second prizes (the judges’ special) were awarded to Grace Jury and Linda Pruden? The judging was kindly carried out by Mrs. H. Foreman and Miss Foreman. The dolls are to be sent to New Plymouth to Sister Corkill for distribution among the poor kiddies of the town. ■ ■ | . About 250 fat lambs were sent out by Mr. F. Sarten to New Plymouth during, the week for the Christmas market Mr. and Mrs. W. Metcalf and family leave on'Thursday to spend a number of weeks of the school vacation in Napier. Miss Brough, who has been Mrs. J. Gamer’s guest, has returned to Waitara.
Mrs. Henry is the guest of Mrs. T. Pruden. Miss Susie West, Te Awamutu, has been visiting her aunt, Mrs. A. Soffe. Miss Hodges, Jfew Plymouth, is visiting Mrs. Alan Soffe. Mr. and Mrs. C. Jury, New Plymouth, who have been staying in the district, have returned to their home.
