COASTAL MOVEMENTS. The Hohnglen is due at New Plymouth from southern ports to-day, and should sail in the afternoon for Port Waikato. (Hooker Bros.). The Opihi left Oamaru and Timaru yesterday for New Plymouth, via ports. She is due at New Plymouth about Sunday and will proceed later to Wellington and Dunedin to load for New Plymouth where §he is due about January 9. (U.S.S. Co.). i The Totara with 325 tons of coal arrived at New Plymouth yesterday morning. After discharge the vessel will' return to Westport to load a further 220 tons for New Plymouth where she is due about Sunday, following which she will proceed to Wellington. (U.S.S. Co.) A The John is due at New Plymouth from Dunedin, via ports, about January 4. She will sail for Port Waikato, Wellington and Dunedin. (Hooker Bros.).

• The Hauturu arrived at New Plymouth yesterday with 200 tons of ' cargo to put out and sailed for > Wanganui later. Her weekly sailing t on December 27 has been cancelled. The • Hauturu will leave Onehunga for New Plymouth on the first trip of the New ’ Year on January 6 being due the follow- ’ ing day. (Northern Co.) MOVEMENTS OF OVERSEAS SHIPS. 1 RUAHINE LOADING. The Ruahine, which arrived from Nelson on Tuesday afternoon to load 10,000 boxes of butter, 15,000 crates of cheese and 16,200 freight carcases of meat at New Plymouth, will remain in port till Friday, when she will sail for Auckland. From Auckland the vessel will proceed 1 to Wellington to complete her cargo. She is scheduled to clear Wellington for London, via Panama, on January 6. PORT HUNTER LEAVES TO-DAY. The Port Hunter, which has been discharging sulphur and loading 3800,boxes of butter and 5700 crates of cheese will probably be dispatched for. Wanganui this afternoon. Her departure depends upon the dispatch of the Port Sydney from Wanganui to-day. TARANAKI AND PAKEHA DELAYED. Newton King Ltd. advises that the Taranaki and Pakeha, due to load at New Plymouth, have both been delayed two days and will now arrive here on January 7 and January 9 respectively. NEW PLYMOUTH LOADING DATES. Further loading dates scheduled for New Plymouth are: January 16, Port Caroline (Collett and Co.) for London; January 19, Tamaroa (Newton King Ltd.) for United Kingdom ports. The Tamaroa, a vessel of 12,354 tons, visited New Plymouth in November, 1930, and holds the tonnage record for the port at present. MAHANA AT WELLINGTON. To complete her homeward loading, the Shaw, Savill liner Mahana arrived at Wellington yesterday morning from Napier. The Mahana was scheduled to sail finally from Wellington yesterday afternoon for London, via Panama Canal. THE OTAIO’S LOADING. The New Zealand Shipping Company’s motor-ship Otaio was expected to leave Bluff for Auckland on Tuesday to continue loading for London, Avonmouth, Liverpool and Glasgow. She is due on Friday. From Auckland the vessel will proceed to Lyttelton to complete loading. The Otaio discharged 2000 tons of English cargo and loaded 4000 boxes of butter, 2500 crates of cheese, and 16,600 freight carcases of meat at New Plymouth on December 10. PASSENGER ACCOMMODATION. The following cablegram has been received by the New Plymouth branch of the New Zealand Shipping Company from Mr. C. J. Cowan, London: “I have just inspected tourist accommodation on the Rotorua and the cabin and tourist accommodation on the Remuera. I am very favourably impressed with arrangements on both these ships and you need have no hesitation in thoroughly recommending it to prospective passengers.” SHIPPING TELEGRAMS.
