Auckland, Wellington, Hawera and Wanganui, and. from reports ' received -\. from local old boys who visited -these , functions, it is evident that they very'much enjoyed. The Old Boys’ Football Club entered? three teams in the senior, second grade, and third grade , competitions, .and .'aV; ' though no team .was successful in wip-> ning a grade, an ..improvement in the standard of play was noticeable. The \ senior, team commenced the season weH,-?/,lfe but as in the 1931 season,. were again ~. unfortunate in losing members of .the. team through injuries. In consequence , the second . grade team was heavily . = drawn on> and had difficulty in fielding a team towards the end of the season. .-,/, The third grade team played the best' and most consistent football of the club, and from an inexperienced side at the ; ; beginning of the season developed into ~j a strong combination. It is very en-' /££ ccuraging to see the standard of attained by this team, and the remaining ; ; teams of the club would do weU to .I; follow : their example in regard to. training. Financially the club is in a sownd position, and despite the present, day conditions have managed by careful ad- ■.?. ministration to emerge with a small profit : . f for the', season.-.' . . - The cricket club experienced a , sue- " ; cessful-season last year, both from th* point of view of the results achieved ia competition and from .the-.point of view / of finance. Although none of '-7: was successful in winning their ,regp<ec- : tive grades, all. .three were runners-up.. . At the annual meeting a resolution was' passed incorporating the .club as the New Plymouth High ?/ School Old Boys’ Cricket Chib and th* constitution and rules were adopted. The past season’s activities in z surf work have veen very successful.
