SOUTH TARANAKI TEAM. STRONG COMBINATION EXPECTED. The South Taranaki cricket team to play the Victoria College touring eleven at Hawera on December 28 and 29 is: H. Barker, W. Barker, Moloney (Old Boys), Hall, Walker, Lay. (Stratford), Palmer (Patea), S. Betts, Court (Kaponga), Penny (Hawera), Duke (High School). Reserves: F. Young (Stratford) and Sagar (Old Boys). Owing to the holidays a number of players were not available. The Victoria College team is stated to be the strongest that has been on tour for some years. Play will commence each day at 10.30 a.m. ■: PERSONAL ITEMS. Dr. John Craig and Dr. Jeannie C. Craig and family, Auckland, are on a holiday visit to Taranaki and are the guests of Mr. and Mrs. E. Meuli, “Lucerne,” South Road, Hawera. Among the successful candidates in the New Zealand University examinations were the following, in addition to those already published: Section LL.B., J. J. McCarthy, property and contracts; R. G. Palmer, procedure and evidence; J. N. Goodson, torts, criminal law and conveyancing; E. O. Shield, procedure and conveyancing. In the section LL.B., B. A. McCarthy secured a pass in property, contingent upon passing iri one other subject. All the foregoing students are of Hawera, while R. L. Bennett, -.Manaia, passed in contracts, torts, criminal law, trusts and conveyancing. ;
